A: I finished my first draft of the news article. B: Yes, I read it. It’s good.

A: Should we run in tomorrow’s paper?

B: I think we need some more supplementary information from the victims first.

A: 내 뉴스 기사의 초안 작업을 끝냈어. B: 응, 그거 읽었어. 좋던데?

A: 내일 신문에 실을까?

B: 먼저 피해자들에게서 추가 정보를 얻는 것이 필요하다고 생각해.

 

supplementary : ‘보충의’, ‘추가의’라는 뜻을 가진 형용사이다. 어원은 ‘보충’, ‘보완’, ‘추가’ 등을 의미하는 라틴어 supplementum에서 유래했다. 유사한 표현으로는 subsidiary, top-up, complementary, auxiliary 등이 있다.
