A: It is time to mobilize your Girl Scout troop! It is time to sell cookies, again.

B: I am amazed at their enthusiasm. Don’t tell anyone, but I dread cookie sales season!

A: Girl Scout 들이 움직여서 쿠키를 팔 때가 다시 왔다.

B: 난 그들의 열정이 놀라울 따름이다. 사람들에게 말하지마 나는 쿠키 세일시즌이 두렵다.

 

mobilize : mobile의 어원은 바로 move 즉 움직인다는 의미에서 온다. 따라서 mobilize 는 뭔가 움직이게 한다는 뜻이다. 첫번째 정의를 보면 to assemble a group of people to achieve something 여러 사람을 동원하여 어떤 것을 이루게 한다는 의미이다. 다음 정의는 to use all the money, support, etc. that is avilable to achieve something 어떤 일을 이루기 위해 주어진 돈, 지원 등 모든 것을 이용한다는 뜻이다.
